XXXtras know that sex scenes require special talent. Our performers all come from adult performer backgrounds ensuring they are comfortable working naked and simulating sex acts in front of full crews while offering flexibility for directors to evolve scenes in the moment without the restraints of staying within soft levels. Our performers have years of adult performance experience meaning they can lead as well as follow. XXXtra performers can carry scenes independently or support principal cast members to shine.
Our Vision
A future where 'sex-perts' are the industry standard - akin to how stunt performers are utilised. XXXtras champion the skill sets of adult performers who should be recognised for what they can bring, while simultaneously fighting to protect mainstream actors from being needlessly placed in scenes they are not equipped for.
Our Mission
To advocate the adult industry to mainstream producers, acting as a bridge between the two worlds by utilising our unique access to both groups. XXXtras strives to normalise collaboration and appreciation between the two sides.
Our Story
In 2012 XXXtras founder Masie Dee answered a casting call for adult performers who specialised in BDSM / fetish work. Several auditions later and she appeared in HBO’s Game Of Thrones as ill-fated brothel worker, ‘Daisy’. During her days on set, Masie formed relationships with the casting team and began linking other adult performers with the assistant directors. This collaboration continued throughout the remaining seasons of Game of Thrones and it’s spin-off House of Dragons. Other assistant directors began to get in touch for different projects from Warner Brothers, Film4, Sky, Paramount, Netflix and many more. With each new casting, Masie became more convinced that adult performers were vital in the ethical and successful production of sexual content in mainstream media.
Masie herself was an adult performer for over a decade before producing adult content independently and for adult studios, including ethical champions abbywinters.com - for whom she would later become associate creative director. As a performer, Masie thrived with an audience, always feeling confident working nude and developing the range of sexual acts and fetishes she perfected as part of her craft. When Masie began working with mainstream actors, she was surprised to learn that not everyone from a performance background shared that ability to feel relaxed and empowered during sexualised scenes. What for Masie was a freedom that she built a career on, for others were scenes that, at best, left them feeling uncomfortable, and at worst, they were haunted by.
Masie began hearing stories of young actors - particularly actresses, who felt pressured to take on nude or sexualised work early on in their career to try and build their way up the ladder. These were often stories of regret and shame. Masie compared these experiences to the adult industry professionals she worked with, who delighted in the nude performance work they specialised in but were shunned by society with their skills minimalised. The solution became obvious - adult performers needed to be recognised more for their craft’, and mainstream actors needed to be shielded from sexual scenes. XXXtras was born.
In June 2024, Masie completed a course with Red Cheeks Academy. Learning alongside intimacy coordinators, debating best practices and discussing the needs of performers, producers and crew during sexualised work deepened her understanding and resolve to ensure only those fully equipped to do so should be performing nude work on camera, while opening doors for adult industry talent who would otherwise be ignored.
